Legal Disclaimer & Accessibility Statement

Effective date: March 2026

Legal Disclaimer

WCAGpatch is a software tool. WCAGpatch does not provide legal advice, and nothing on this website or within the plugin should be interpreted as legal advice. The information provided by WCAGpatch, including scan results, remediation reports, and compliance certificates, is for informational purposes only.

Limitations of Automated Testing

Automated accessibility testing tools, including WCAGpatch, detect approximately 30–40% of WCAG violations according to research by WebAIM and other accessibility organizations. Many accessibility issues require manual testing, user testing with assistive technology, or expert human review to identify. WCAGpatch addresses the issues that can be detected and fixed programmatically, which represents a significant portion of common violations but not all of them.

Compliance Certificates

A compliance certificate generated by WCAGpatch represents a documented good-faith remediation effort. It is not a guarantee of full legal compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 508, the European Accessibility Act (EAA), or any other accessibility law or regulation. The certificate documents that an automated scan was performed, violations were identified, and remediation was applied. Courts and regulators may consider documented good-faith efforts as a factor in evaluating compliance, but no automated tool can guarantee legal immunity.

Recommendation

Users should consult a qualified accessibility professional, certified WCAG auditor, or attorney for full compliance assurance. WCAGpatch is designed to be one part of a comprehensive accessibility strategy, not a complete solution on its own. We recommend combining automated scanning with periodic manual audits and user testing.

No Liability for Legal Outcomes

WCAGpatch and its creators are not responsible for any legal actions, lawsuits, demand letters, fines, settlements, or other legal outcomes related to the accessibility of your website, regardless of whether you use WCAGpatch. Use of the plugin does not create an attorney-client relationship or any other professional advisory relationship.
